Central financial assistance for residential rooftop systems, as per the current scheme guidelines. Amounts can change — we confirm the latest figures with you before you sign.

Do you qualify?

Most homes do. If you can say yes to these, you are very likely eligible.

  • You are an Indian citizen and own the house where the panels go.
  • The house has a valid electricity connection in your name.
  • There is enough shadow-free roof — about 100 sq ft for every kW.
  • The household has not already taken a solar subsidy for this connection.
  • The system is installed by a registered vendor using approved (DCR) panels.

How the subsidy reaches your bank

You do two things: share documents and sign. We do the rest.

  1. 1You

    Share documents

  2. 2Us

    Register on the portal

We apply on pmsuryaghar.gov.in and get DISCOM feasibility.

  3. 3Us

    Install the system

DCR panels, inverter, structure and earthing by our team.

  4. 4DISCOM

    Inspection & net-meter

We book the inspection and get the net-meter fitted.

  5. 5Government

    Subsidy credited

The subsidy is paid directly into your bank account.

Keep these ready

  • Latest electricity bill
  • Aadhaar card
  • Bank passbook or cancelled cheque
  • Property ownership proof
  • Passport-size photograph
  • Photos of the roof
Do I pay the full price first?

Yes. You pay for the system, and the central subsidy is credited to your bank account after installation and DISCOM inspection. Solar loans can cover the upfront amount.

How long does the subsidy take?

It depends on DISCOM inspection and portal processing. Once the net-meter is installed and the inspection report is uploaded, the payment is released to your account — we track it until it arrives.

Is there a subsidy for shops or factories?

PM Surya Ghar covers residential rooftops only. Businesses benefit from lower bills, accelerated depreciation and net-metering — see our page for businesses.

What about farm pumps and ground-mounted plants?

Those fall under PM-KUSUM, a separate scheme. We handle PM-KUSUM projects too — ask us about your land and pump.
